Dia de Los Muertos Remembrance Candle-Making Gathering
Thu, Oct 15
|Candle Bar 111
Lighting a candle to honor and remember a beloved is an ancient practice. Autumn brings us many cultural celebrations from “Day of the Dead” to All Saints Day and more to pause together in memory.

About the event
Come create a unique scented tribute to one you have lost and hold close in your
heart. Guests are invited to bring a photograph, small object, or meaningful symbol
of their loved one to contribute to a shared remembrance altar or “ofrenda” for the
evening. We’ll begin by taking a few moments together to create the altar and reflect
on the people we’re carrying with us. We will be guided by Arlene Stepputat, end-of-
life doula, to create this safe and sacred space.
From there, each guest will create a custom candle in memory of their loved one,
choosing and blending a fragrance that feels meaningful to them.
After blending and pouring our candles, we’ll gather for a simple closing ritual and
toast in honor of all we carry in our hearts.
This small, inclusive gathering is designed to feel tender, welcoming, and supportive,
offering confidential space for reflection and connection without any expectation to
share more than feels comfortable. Stories, silence, tears and laughter are all
welcome.
Approximately 90 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.
